"Too big for brief case" 2010-07-16By
MWBWithout carefully checking dimensions, I bought this product hoping it would fit in my briefcase. Sadly, it was too large for my briefcase, and is kind of an awkward size when collapsed. The umbrella has good coverage and seems to hold up ok so far in the wind, although I haven't had much occasion to test it in that regard. Solid umbrella, and, when closed, smaller than other umbrellas with the same canopy, but too big for a brief case.
"Poor execution" 2010-06-16By

This is a (mostly) well conceived but poorly executed umbrella.
It is a big, heavy umbrella; you must be tall and strong to use it. Its canopy, actually made of two superposed sections with a vent between them, allows the wind to flow through without too much risk of overturning it, yet the superposed parts are wide enough to avoid the rain going into the protected area.
The ribs are apparently of good quality, but the stitching of the canopy to the ribs is poorly done; I am not sure if it will resist for long when used on windy days (the marketing for this umbrella emphasizes its wind resistance).
The handle is the worst part of this umbrella: it's the most non-ergonomic shape you can think of, it's too small for such a heavy umbrella and it offers very little grip to your hand, putting a lot of stress on your hand+wrist as it reacts to gulfs of wind.
"Heavy duty umbrella" 2010-05-26By
IrishlawlassI bought this as a gift for my father. I was shocked by how sturdy this seemed and how nice looking it is. It's got some weight to it -- feels like a billy club in your hand (you could hurt someone with it). The push-button open was very nice. The coverage is great -- very big umbrella. I cannot speak to how it holds up daily because I gave it as a gift and haven't had a sit-down to discuss the umbrella (probably never will) but I can say that just from the short time I had to examine it, I am thinking of buying one for myself. I have a toddler and when I'm going in and out of places with her and all our gear or a stroller, this umbrella would easily cover us.
"Great buy for a great price" 2010-03-22By
Erika D. MurdockI love my new umbrella. It is big enough and sturdy and I like that it opens with the push of a button. It did almost flip over on me walking up the wind corridor in downtown SF, but overall I've been very happy with it. Its not so big, like a gold umbrella, that I feel a little ridiculous, but its plenty big for two people.
"after only two uses it was broken" 2010-03-13By

It looked good when I received it but after only two uses it was broken. Not sure now if it was broken when I got it...I guess all the umbrella are only good for a few uses, I was using cheap umbrellas from the dollar or 5 and 10 stores before and the higher price umbellas are not any better but I will try a few more before I give up...
