Technical: silk and poly sleeping bag liner
The liners are lightweight at about, 9 ounces (260 grams), and fold up tight in their own 9 X 6 X 1 inch little stuff bag. They open large to 74 X 27 inches.
Light enough for everyone to carry while traveling or hiking. We do not recommend a lighter silk as they lose strength and will not last. Likewise for mummy liners - there is no real benefit in using a mummy liner to save less than one ounce. A rectangular blend sleeping bag liner is far more versatile and is completely unnoticeable in a mummy bag as the blend is so slick that it moves well with you regardless the size of your sleeping bag.
We have thousands of nights experience in this and have sold our liner for many years, all over the world. Ours are generous in size but still lightweight and designed to work well in any sleeping bag. It is stitched to last for many years when cared for properly.

"Not silk" 2010-01-18By
S. Midlarsky (Waltham, MA United States)
I ordered this item based on its description. It came labeled as 100% silk. I am pretty well acquainted with the feel of silk due to working with fabrics and threads, and this really did not feel like silk at all to me, rather like 100% polyester. So I did a burn test with a couple of the loose threads on the liner, so as not to damage it. (I cut them off first.) The threads beaded right up into black plasticky beads, a sure sign of polyester. There was no burning-hair smell or gray ash, so it couldn't even be a silk blend. Very disappointing as I wanted to use this for a trip coming up soon. Better to label this what it really is.

D. CampbellBought this liner for occasional use in hostels and mountain refuges in the Alps. It is light, comfortable, and packs easily into the small stuff sack provided. Also seemed pretty warm, but only used it indoors. Only one complaint: it is a little too short for me (I'm 6' tall) so I couldn't use the pillow pocket.
