"Bought two. Both had electrical problems" 2010-07-29
By Robert Chast
First the good: I purchased two fans and used them on three camping trips. They really keep the tent comfortable. Now the bad: On my second camping trip one unit began pulsing slow and then fast. I assumed it needed new batteries. On the third trip of the season, one fan stopped working on low speed and there was a strong electrical burning smell and the power pack was hot to the touch. I switched over to the second fan and it too overheated causing the battery pack switch to begin melting. I called the Coleman help number and they indicated that they haven't had reports of any problems but offered to repair or replace it at no charge and sent me a return shipping ticket so that I didn't have to pay to have it shipped back. I'm hoping the replacement units last longer than the originals.

"good for cool nights and a hot tent" 2010-07-09
By A. Molica (nashua nh)
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3JM96MQ8C7JWB IT works if air is cool and tent is hot, won't help if it's a heat wave and it's hot air outside and it's a hot tent. so it depends on the temp of the outside air as to whether or not it does the trick. the noise level is low and steady enough to put a baby to sleep.

 "Great fan!" 2010-07-06
By CincyMom (Cincinnati, OH)
I got this fan because we are planning on a lot of summer camping in the mid-west. We've used it one weekend so far. The temps were in the mid 70s at night, very humid and very stagnant. We used it in a 6-person tent with all the windows open, and it had just the right amount of air circulation to make an otherwise uncomfortable night bearable. Specs say there is a 20-hour battery life on high power (40-hours on low) - we used it on high for 2 full nights and didn't have any noticeable reduction in power, and its still going strong. Money well spent.
Also, to comment on the noise concerns - no doubt you can hear the fan, but its not incredibly loud. Its a steady droning that was good at drowning out the noise of the campground.

 "Excellent tent camping accessory" 2010-07-04
By Ray H. Creveling (Marietta, PA United States)
I bought 2 of these before a trip to Maryland this weekend.

The Good

The fans move a lot of air and make a huge difference in the comfort of the tent. The magnetic stand make it easy to place on any window in the tent and the separate battery pack makes storage easy. I ran these for about 20 hours this weekend on low using Radioshack Enercell batteries and they are still running.

The Bad
They are loud but, a small fan moving a lot of air will be loud.
The magnetic frame would be very difficult for one person to mount.
The power cords are a little short, out tent is almost 7 feet tall in the center and if we want to put the fans in the upper windows the power packs mu sit on something.

Overall the bad is extremely minor and these fans mad camping a much more pleasant experience.

"Lasted 4 hours before going haywire" 2010-06-12
By Zuhl (Houston, Texas)
Very poor quaility. Lasted only a few hours into the night. They would surge and pulsate and finally stopped working all together. Sent it back.
